Reverse Osmosis

What is Reverse Osmosis?

If you have been to any other water store or have seen their website, they will tell you of their 12 step process to provide you with pure water. We all have the same setup, although I don’t consider the pumps, part of a step in the purification process. They also list 3 stages for Ozone, but the Ozone does only one function. Let me instead tell you what I am filtering out of the water at each step of our purification process.
What sets us apart from many of the other sources of water in the Kitsap area is that I have an industrial reverse osmosis water purification machine that can produce 4,000 gallons of pure, clean, healthy water per day.
My unit starts with a Pre-filter that removes particulate matter down to 20 microns. It removes insoluble scale, oxidized iron, bacterial iron slime, colloidal solids, silt, rust, including many viruses, bacteria, colloids (Iron, Manganese, Silica, etc), Cellular debris, and other particles. Next, the water comes to our carbon filter. The carbon filter provides an excellent and proven application for the reduction or removal of the following contaminants: Acetaldehyde, Acetone, Alcohols, Amy Acetate, Amy Alcohol, Antifreeze, Benzene, Bleach, Butyl Alcohol, Butyl Acetate, Calcium Hypochlorite, Chloral, Chloramine, Chloroform, Chlorine, Chlorobenzene, Chlorophenol, Chlorophyll, Citric Acid, Cresol, Defoliants, Diesel Fuel, Dyes, Ethyl Acrylate, Ethyl Alcohols, Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Amine, Ethyl Ether, Gasoline, Glycols, Herbicides, Hydrogen Peroxide, Hypochlorous Acid, Insecticides, Iodine, Isopropyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Ketones, Lactic Acids, Mercaptans, Methyl Acetate, Methyl Alcohol, Methyl Bromide, Methyl Chloride, Methyl Ethyl Ketone, Naphtha, Nitrobenzene, Nitrotoluene, Odors (General), Oil-Dissolved, Organic Acids, Organic Esters, Organic Salts, Oxalic Acid, Oxygen, Ozone, PCB’s, Pesticides, Phenol, Plastic Tastes, Potassium Permanganate, Propionic Acid, Propyl Acetate, Propyl Alcohol, Propyl Chloride, Radon, Rubber Hose Taste, Sodium Hypochlorite, Solvents, Sulphonated Oils, Tannins, Tar Emulsion, Tartaric Acid, THM’s, Toluene, Toluidine, Trichlorethylene, Turpentine, Xanthophyll, and Xylene. That is a lot! Next the water will then go through a 5-micron filter removing any particles the first 2 filters did not, down to 5 microns.
Then the water pressure is increased to 150 psi by our high-pressure pump into our Reverse Osmosis membranes. The membrane is semi permeable down to .0002 micron, only allowing pure water molecules to pass. After that, the water is stored in our FDA approved food grade water storage tanks. My water tanks also have an Ozonater, neutralizing microorganisms like viruses and bacteria. Ozone is a better disinfectant than chlorine.
When you come to fill your bottles, the water from the tank passes through another carbon filter and then an Ultraviolet Sterilizer light which eliminates 99.9% of bacteria before it comes out of any of our faucets.
We spent the extra money to make sure all our lines are PEX, stainless steel, and food grade hoses to make sure that nothing leeches back into the water and you get the purest, healthiest water.
